Today’s neighborhood spotlight focuses on a Rochester Hills neighborhood, Heatherwood Village.

LIVING IN HEATHERWOOD VILLAGE

Heatherwood Village is located in Rochester Hills, Michigan, which is about 45 minutes North of downtown Detroit and under a 10 minute bike ride to downtown Rochester (and the Paint Creek Trail). Children in this neighborhood attend McGregor Elementary, Hart Middle School, and Stoney Creek High School, all part of top-performing Rochester Community Schools, a district which is routinely rated one of the best in the county.

The Heatherwood Village Subdivision is made up of 429 homes, two private parks, a pond, two playgrounds, two scenic trails, and a picturesque wooded nature trail. The neighborhood features well-kept open landscapes, tree lined streets and inclusive neighborhood activities. Also, numerous nearby parks and recreation means plenty of outdoor activity all year round.

North of the neighborhood, the residents of Heatherwood Village also enjoy the convenience of nearby Downtown Rochester, which is within walking distance and has many excellent restaurants, summer farmers market, seasonal events, and boutique shops.

To the south, residents have access to lots of great shopping, movie theaters and restaurants.

To the east, there are several parks and Yates Cider Mill within a 5 minute drive.

Drive 15 minutes west to easily reach Oakland University and Meadow Brook theater and festival grounds. Let’s not forget the Village of Rochester Hills, Great Lakes Crossing, Oakland Mall and The Somerset Collection that are all less than 20 minutes away!

Between Rochester’s downtown main street and the convenience of Rochester Rd, you’re close to it all.
— Jane and Drew Campbell

We had the opportunity to talk with residents of Heatherwood Village, Drew and Jane Campbell, who are currently preparing to sell their property on Arlington Dr. We took this opportunity to get the real inside scoop from a resident on why someone searching for their forever home may want to choose Heatherwood Village and the city of Rochester Hills.

“Between Rochester's downtown main street and the convenience of Rochester Rd, you're close to it all.” says Drew. “There is always something to do - festivals, farmers markets - great parks to explore, and great food to enjoy. We love Rochester Brunch House, the Home Bakery, and the Meeting house.”

When considering where you will call home, the community surrounding you is at the top of the list, but of course it is the home that really makes or breaks the deal. Drew and Jane share what it was that drew them to this property, “The deck and the privacy of the backyard in summer are great.” She continues, “Additionally, you can't beat the location. It's close to Bloomer Park, Clinton River Trails, downtown Rochester, and more. We can see Rochester's Big Bright Light Show from the back deck. The neighbors are great”

Like we discussed earlier, Heatherwood Village has great access to all the amenities Downtown Rochester has to offer. Being a part of the local businesses, we can speak for the culture that thrives within the Downtown area. The Downtown Development Authority ensures there are always community events you can enjoy, as well as the local business truly offering a variety of unique (and delicious) goods! If you are ever looking for a tour of the Downtown Rochester area, or would like some recommendations, feel free to give us a call or stop by our Keller Williams Paint Creek office on the corner of Main St and University.

Drew mentions how this area has been one of his favorite aspects of their property, “We love the mixture of small town Rochester, the convenience of Rochester Rd, and the parks surrounding our area and more. It's great for families and young adults. The neighborhood is kind of tucked away and quiet but is close to everything. You can walk to everything.”
